Kuruvi – A fans Review

I have been a vijay fan since my 10th class… i have never missed any film of his.. and from kushi onwards i have always been watching the first show of his movies. I was there for the first show of the movie in Bangalore.. i am writing my opinion on the movie.

Dharani has disappointed me with a very fragile screenplay and unnecessary dialogues and larger than life stunts. I sincerely thought ATM was a superb film.. it was very good display of acting from an actor of Vijay’s stature.. we must really appreciate the way the negative character was pictured.. Look at kuruvi, the intro was larger than life.. (ok agreed it will go well with the fans)… and the race scene was very dramatic and predictable.. and the scene after the race reminded me of exactly the same scene from ghilli where the director’s name is shown..

The intro song is power packed and 20/10 for the dance in it. The scene in which he steals the diamond in a few seconds (reminded of Entrapment).. the director could have left the box blank rather than replacing with a kalkandu.. Jeeva (lollusabha fame) was an unnecessary character just to get beaten.. I can accept the larger than life stunts and things.. but why to back it all with an unnecessary lengthy dialogues. I just asked to myself what difference do i see in Perarasu and Dharani in this regard..

And music, i knew none of the songs were very good during the audio launch but i was expecting them to be good on screen.. disappointment there too.. the songs were positioned so predictably and trisha was used only for the songs.
Too many scenes were taken from Sivaji.. like when vijay asks vivek to touch one of the two fingers… there are more scenes which u will realize while watching..

Coming on to the positives.. Vijay’s acting and dance was good.. He has delivered as expected from the director. Vijay has always been a director’s hero. Here dharani had made him look very bad.. not that he has under performed.

Its time Vijay rethinks his strategy and come up with a nice movie next time. He is definitely capable of giving a better movie. Get away from this fragile mass oriented scripts. It doesn’t help his stature neways.

Barca – dump 3-4-3

The last month was filled with few disappointments for the best soccer club in the world who on their day can beat any side in the world. Let us get into the details of the recent failure of F.C.Barcelona where in a month they were knocked out of champions league and momentarily lost the Spanish league top spot to Sevilla. Yet for all their inadequacies as a unit in this campaign, I still feel they should win the spanish league title hands down. The achilles heel for barca in recent times is the amount of pressure on the defenders in their 3-4-3 formation. Barca cannot keep its creative midfielders out in favor of a more reliable formation because their playing style is influenced by their midfield’s ability to make creative chances for the ever watchful and agile front 3. The last few matches especialy the two against chelsea gave a feeling that the 3 defenders were often in immense pressure esp from the wingers.

There is no immediate solution for this as they are not willing to go back to the slate to change a tested and proven playing style. Maybe adding two quality full backs or even 1 full back and a wing back who can assist the midfield will ease some pressure but at the cost of 1-2 midfielders or 1-MF and 1-FW. Better still though, stick to 4-3-3, No team plays that way better than Barcelona on song.

Clean bowled

If Rahul can”t buckle under pressure, he can come back home and help his wife and mom in the kitchen. Why cooking up stories regarding injury and escaping. Thank God, I haven’t wasted my time in watching those useless matches.

Whether or not Dravid is faking his injury, this news did come as a surprise because neither during the play nor immediately after that there was any hint of something having gone wrong. In case he is not really injured but is staying away from the games on this pretext, it would further prove that something is indeed wrong between Dravid and the shameless, uncouth and brainless Greg Chappell.

It was reported by a TV channel that there was a bust up between the two before the 2nd ODI. It does seem that Dravid is now fed up of this autocratic craphead. Dravid is now tired of being a side-kick of the Aussie. In any case, he must be heaving a sigh of relief for not having to play in the last two one-dayers.

It doesn’t need too much of an intellectual ability to discern that this boorish, uncultured Chappell has ended up dismantling a team which was doing reasonably well until he took over as the coach. In the name of building up a team for WC ’07 this brainless bullheaded person has destroyed whatever was good with the team. Chappell needs to be booted out.

I sincerely feel Ganguly, whos now back in the team has to deliver and put up a great comeback (as he has always done). If he goes on to find form I see him leading team india by the time of world cup. He is the only person who can bring in the sting and fighting spirit in players which is long missing. Enough of intellectual captaincy and astute coaching.. all India needs is raw agression and a leader who can feels winning brings pride to the team and nation.

Live Robbery…

Last week two of my roomies was about to go to the street end shop for a coffee at 8.00PM or so, It was raining at that time.. and the incident that followed was really unreal.. it seems a girl was returning from office on our road and two men on a bike came in from nowhere, snatched her back and rushed off from there.. my friends were so shocked and they told the girl was in a state where she didn’t know what to do.. my friends took the bike and tried to find the culprit, but it was actually an impossible task.. it seems the two men had followed here from the ATM before that… these kind of petty crimes are very common nowadays in bangalore.. and ppl need to be watchful, esp girls please take care esp when you go to an ATM.

Back in bangalore..

After a short stint in hyderabad I returned back to bangalore this July and I don’t find any difference in the lifestyle to what it used to be.. But I should admit its better than before because of the proper work life balance in my new workplace, and i needn’t travel much as its very near to our house… well this time im seriously into dieting and i’ve been telling a strong NO to all deep fried and oil soaked snacks which used to be my best friends… the street end shop is reported to have reduced production of bhajji’s ever since i stopped eating there

Whatever said, bangalore is actually a nice place to live.. defenitely not better than my hometown pondicherry but still it has all elements to fill ur tanks so far so good here.. only thing i miss about hyderabad and feel nostalgic is the Hyderabadi biriyani )

What the..

this time i just sat to write something i don’t want to write.. state of software engineers. How mean and monotonus is a life of s/w engineer.. although ppl love to be one, i started hating it. Being from a normal middle class family i have no other choice but to earn as soon as possible to support my family.. In one way i’m doing the best and right thing my parents wanted.. but when I think of what im doing I really get irritated about this slavery of mind. Life before job was not the same.. there are striking differences ..to name a few,

# I used to get up fresh everyday with new expectations, but now all that I feel when i get up is “How am I going to see this day off… “

# I had a lot of time for friends and family.. Now my dad calls me and says “Call us often atleast to tell u are fine’.. this makes me feel low that how can i forget to call them.

# I had lot of unique qualities in myself..like short temper, spontaneousness, forthright views, etc.. All I’m now is a dull doll which dances with the work env.

# I was a lot more creative and innovative in whatever i do.. Now i’m curbed of my creativity and I think like a machine just in the perspective of the so called business and customer

# I never wanted to sleep early.. somethin like.. in college I never wanted the day to end.. Now as soon as I open my room door, bang i throw myself to the bed and u can hear me snor in next few mins..

# I had lot of time for movies and sports, I even used to write reviews in communities(Orkut).. The last tamil movie I saw in a hall was almost 4to5 months back…

# I used to enqeue songs acc to my taste and mood and used to enjoy the lyrics and music..Now all I do is enq some song for the sake of putting on my headphone and hear the same song all day (actually not hearing)…

# I used to enjoy food.. eat different dishes in a week.. Now even im given same thing everyday, i hardly bother, eating just for the sake of doing so…

so i do everything now.. for the SAKE OF DOING SO..

will continue this when i have time and when ppl are not around
